Be careful what you wish for...

Song of the moment: Lifehouse - Take Me Away

I try to make my way to you
But still I feel so lost
I don't know what else I can do

Cause I've seen it all
It was never enough
It keeps leaving me needing you
Take Me Away by Lifehouse

This is one of the few times when the mantra, "Be Careful What You Wish For", comes into play in my life. I have to admit, I have led a somewhat blessed life. Everything that I've needed and to a certain extent, what I've wanted, God has provided. Most of the events in my life has gone smoothly, without much of a hitch. Though sometimes I take things for granted, I try to remember to thank God for what he has done in my life. Actually getting into School of Provost (Soon to be renamed Military Police Training School by the way...) was somewhat of a surprise for me. Although I admit I really wanted to go in, I wasn't really optimistic about my chances. Now that I've actually made it in, I've got to hold onto this chance. Endure another 7 weeks and 5 days of MP training and I'll get my 9 to 5 posting (Hopefully anyway...).
PT is a lot tougher than BMTC but still manageable (However, I am the ONLY ZERO FIGHTER in the entire batch). Lectures, lessons and homework seem unending but I think I am still able to handle it so far at least. I'll have to increase my discipline level by a few notches as the standard here is probably one of the highest among the SAF. I pray that God will be able to help me through this MP Basic course and post me to a suitable company after that.
The people here are quite friendly though. I know at least one person who lives somewhat near my area and my buddy seems like quite a nice guy. Hope to make more friends here too.

I guess I forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday on the actual day itself...but I hope the message got through by the present. You know, sometimes I feel that it's quite hard to have a decent conversation with you. As if there's a barrier I can't get past, that we'll never be more than friends. I pray that God will help me accept the plan he has for my life, whether you will be more than 'just a friend'...

Where, oh where will the Yellow Brick Road lead me?

Song of the moment: 阿杜 (Ah Du) - 坚持到底 (Jian Chi Dao Di)

Post POP, day 8. Have been spending most of my time with the PC and PS2. Of course, that's not to say that I've gone back to being a computer freak. I have been going out, watching Movies and shopping for a certain someone's birthday gift, etc. Even as an NS man, I try my very best to maintain a reasonable social life.

After SKMC's anniversary celebrations, I went to watch Monster House with Moses, Jamie, Jessica, Jerline, Zhiliang, Angela, Andy (not my brother), Jowell and Josh at Plaza Singapura. Thanks to my newly acquired SAFRA card and Moses' HSBC credit card, we all paid $7 each for a weekend movie ticket. Movie was pretty good, quite a few twists and I can appreciate the fact that the director was doing his best not to make it to cliche. Thus I give a 4/5 stars.
Went to Sunshine Plaza to eat the Wanton Mee for dinner and Rochor original beancurd for some Tau Huay dessert. All in all, Sunday was quite a good day, mentally and gastranomicaly anyway.

I am glad I accepted Angela's offer to go shopping with me for the certain someone's birthday gift on Monday. It was the first time ever where I actually was certain of what I wanted to buy for a girl I like. Well, actually second, but since that girl told me what she wanted before hand, I won't count it in. It's so much easier when a female friend (who actually knows the certain someone better than you do, or at least longer) gives you advice and suggestions on what to buy for the girl. So, thanks for all your help Angela, I really appreciate it. Remember that I owe you a treat, in case I forgot. ^_^
The gift, in short, is simple but useful, ordinary but with an added touch of uniqueness and individuality.

Went out with Melvin yesterday for lunch at J8 and watched The Devil Wears Prada with him. Glad to see he's doing well. Not that he shouldn't be, especially since he's in PES C. He'll either get the really enjoyable/slacker postings (ie. Admin, Clerk) or the really boring/crappy stuff (ie. Driver/Storeman). Still don't really know whether I should feel envious of him or not. Well, there's good and bad points in everything, so you just have to take what you can.
The Devil Wears Prada is actually a not-so-typical morallistic kind of movie. A somewhat interesting take on office politics and on how a person eventually becomes the very thing he/she detests for the sake of climbing the corporate ladder. I kind of like the way it brings across the message, so I'll give it a 3.5/5 stars.

Somehow, I really wish I could spend more time with you. But circumstance and responsibilities somehow just seem to get in the way. Even though I don't know the ending of this chapter, I'll wait and I'll endure. That's because I know, whatever the ending might be, good or bad, it's definitely worth the effort.
BTW, let me wish you an early Happy Birthday! Hope that you like the gift I bought you.

ePosting tomorrow! Give me Provost or slacker!! LOL!

POP-ed!

Song of the moment: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR - Ichirin No Hana (Bleach 3rd OP theme)

Post POP, 2nd day. It feels somewhat unusual that I get to spend an extended time at home, free from Book Ins and stuff like that. I plan to get a few things done in this free time which I have, like cleaning up my room and other miscellaneous stuff. Also plan to catch up on the games I have been neglecting, like FF VII and Grandia 2 for PC and Midnight Club 3 for the PS2. Battle For Middle Earth 2 is also waiting to be installed. Deadline: 18th September 2006.
So many things to do, so little time... ^_^

The Passing Out Parade was pretty good, though somewhat tiring. Most of us just wanted to get it over with so that we could go home. The feeling when throwing your jockey cap into the air was totally amazing. It was as if a really heavy load has been lifted off your shoulders. However, we know that the journey's not over yet. We all still have a year and eight more months to go in the army. Hopefully God will guide us through it, just as he has guided us through BMT.

Planning to watch a couple of movies during this break. The Host will definitely be one of them, followed by Monster House and maybe Singapore Dreaming. No problem watching on weekends, thanks to my SAFRA card. Anyone who wants to join, feel free to leave a tag on the tagboard or SMS me.

POP orh!!!! Now PTE WH CHIA!

Soon to be a TRAINED soldier

Song of the moment: NIRGILIS - Sakura (Eureka 7 4th OP theme)

POP-ing in 4 days and morale is especially high. Especially since we've just completed the 'dreaded' 24KM route march. Actually, it was more of a fast march than a route march considering the speed at which we were going. The worst part was probably the march to Feba Village and back to old SISPEC, where it seemed never ending. Now that it's over, all thats left are the long and tiring POP rehearsals and the actual POP on Wednesday. Seemed like it was just awhile ago that I first came to BMTC. I'll definitely miss the times I've spent with people like Wee 'Teddy Bear' Boon, Xian-ge, Eddie, Jonathan and everyone else from Cougar 3 Section 4.

Went out with the Poly gang to Esplanade for KT's and Winnie's Birthday celebration. Japanese food there was a bit on the expensive side but it was quite fresh and filling. The cake they bought was really good too. Though we had to wait for awhile before the actual cake cutting got under way. Still, it's pretty cool to see most of the old gang together. Shared a cab ride with Jia Yi for the trip back and I probably owe him a bit of cash. Hope to have a chance to return it to him... ^_^

Honestly, if I can't go to Command School, I am hoping they post me to Provost School for MP training. Though I got my MP interview, I am not really getting my hopes up since I'll be up against an entire batch of MP interviewees (those not selected for Command School anyway) for a place in SAFPU. Still, I just hope for the best and pray that I get a good posting.

GOING TO POP!!!!
