Autumn reflections

Song of the moment: Eufonius - Megumeru ~Cuckool Mix 2007~ (Clannad OP theme)

hutashikana kimochi wo idaku
doushitemo huande
imawa mada shiranai keredo
itsuka sonomeni utsuru toki gakuru

sekai wa tsuzuiteru
kimi wo mezashi nagara

kasaneta teto te no nakani
chiisana mirai ga mietara
kiokuwo sa tokihanatou
massugu na kokoro no sakini
tsunagaru jikan ga arukara

(I embrace an uncertain feeling
I feel uneasy no matter what
I still don’t know now
But someday, the moment when I’ll reflect in your eyes will come

The world continues on
While I’m gazing at you

If we can see a little future
Within our joined hands
Then c’mon, let’s release our memories
Because there’s a time that connects to
The tip of my straightforward heart)

Yes...here comes what I personally feel is the best time of the year, Autumn. There's always this sense of anticipation during Autumn, where it's like so close to the end of the year yet it isn't. Where another batch of my seniors start to ORD (just you guys wait, 7+ more months...grr...). Coincidentally, it also represents a new season of TV shows and anime waiting to be watched. Since I probably haven't done this for a long time, I guess it's time where I give my initial thoughts and possible expectations to the new Autumn anime season. At least those which I am currently following or intend to follow in future anyway... ^_^

Currently Following

Bamboo Blade - Well, I personally have a mild interest in sports anime and it being a Kendo Seinen one kind of pique my interest. Admittedly, I haven't watched past the first episode yet, but while this probably won't be in my "must watch" list, it'll be interesting to see how it develops.

Dragonaut: The Resonance (MUST WATCH!) - Lots of potential but possibly overrated? Well, as with the title, it's clearly a Shounen anime with dragons and the Haruhi alumni (as in the seiyuu) are inside (Nagato Yuki/Chihara Minori is the female lead and Koizumi Itsuki/Ono Daisuke is the male lead). It's on probation in my "must watch" list so we'll see how it goes.

Clannad (MUST WATCH!) - The biggest of my personal BIG 3 new animes this fall, it's another anime adaptation of a KEY visual novel after Kanon and Air. With a good mix of comedy, drama, moe characters and animation by Kyoto Animation (FMP:TSR and Suzumiya Haruhi), it's probably a guaranteed sure hit and nothing short of a disaster can ruin this anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (MUST WATCH!) - Another one of my BIG 3 new animes. As most of you all would know of my fixation of mecha/sci-fi animes (Gundam in particular), it's the latest in the Gundam franchise. Having not watched Gundam for some time after SEED Destiny and the Zeta compilation movies, I was a bit apprehensive till I found out who is the director (Mizushima Seiji of FMA fame). Interesting to see what direction he'll take the seires into...

KimiKiss Pure Rouge - Based on a dating sim from Japan. Main reason for watching is probably the character design and it's director (Kasai Kenichi of Nodame Cantabile and Honey and Clover). Your typical romantic drama...at least it's not a harem anime.

Moyashimon - It's probably this season's (in my opinion) unique anime. About a guy who can see microbes with his naked eye. Hmm...
Well, at any rate, it's one of the funny/comedy animes' out there.

Shion no Ou - It's like a dark version of Hikaru no Go. With elements of murder, mystery and Japanese Chess, its quite an interesting formula...

Ghost Hound (MUST WATCH!) - Last of my BIG 3 animes. Creator: Shirow Masamune (Ghost in the shell, Appleseed) Production Company: Production I.G (Blood+, Jin Roh, Ghost in the shell) Need I say more?

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Ongoing mystery/murder anime from Summer 2007. Big fan of the previous season. The 2nd season expands and concludes the story of the Hinamizawa Disaster through the final two solution arcs and two new exclusive anime-only arcs. Will Rika, Keiichi and gang achieve their happy ending? Find out in Higurashi season 2!

Hayate no Gotoku - Ongoing comedy/parody anime from Spring 2007. Based on a manga series by Hata Kenjirou. Started out great but kind of losing steam after reaching the halfway mark. Hopefully it'll pick up again. At least the parodies are still there.

Would like to follow

Shakugan no Shana season 2 - Reluctant as have not finish watched season 1.
ef - a tale of memories - Downloaded but unwatched.
Genshiken season 2 - Same reason as Shana

Cool yeah? So much anime, so little time...
