Is this what I wanna be?

Song of the moment: KT Turnstall - Suddenly I See

Its been a rather interesting past month for me. Managed to watch a couple of movies, like Spiderman 3, Bridge to Terabithia and Children of Men (on DVD). Also caught up with a couple of friends from Barker, like John, Joshua and Zhu Dong. Most of them are just waiting for entry into Uni since they've ORD-ed, save for Josh, who's already in NYP doing Occupational Therapy and John, who's still serving like me.

There was a blackout in camp last Monday when I was on duty. It really was an interesting experience. It kind of reminds you on how much a person can rely on electricity, be it for the fan, air-con or simple just the lights. We (Ben, Sar, Sheng Yang and myself) tried to start a fire without much sucess and we ended up sleeping outside in the open (with the mosquitoes of course...). Definitely an experience I wouldn't want to repeat.

Spiderman 3 to me was a tad bit disappointing. Didn't really live up to my expectations. Although there was surprisingly a lot more humor in the movie (Peter Parker dancing down the street while checking out girls was hilarious) and brings the show full circle, the ending didn't really feel satisfying for me. Venom's questionable fate in the movie and Peter's and MJ's relationship didn't really end the way I though it would. Still, it's a pretty good movie. The action sequences were really top-notch (I liked the first fight scene between Peter Parker and Green Goblin/Harry Osbourne). A 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Children of Men was one of those movies which really didn't deserve the 'straight to DVD' treatment. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), it has one of the best (if not the best) cinematography I've ever seen (a 5-10 minute scene in ONE, continuous single take, its amazing) which probably should have won an oscar. Perhaps, I was a little disappointed by how much screen time Julianne Moore had in the movie but otherwise, this movie is really a masterpiece in storytelling. A 5 out of 5 from me.

I would be coordinating the youth for our church during the 24-7 prayer starting this Sunday, please keep me in your prayers and pray that we will all experience God more intimately during this period.
